With the ‘One Wish for the Earth’ campaign lead by Bhumi Pednekar in India, Bollywood celebrities wanted to spread awareness about biodiversity. The catchy melody of Dhakk Dhakk Dharti carries the message of biodiversity and conversation of nature, highlighting the importance of all the organisms and why we need to conserve them. This also goes in tune with this environment day’s theme, which is to ‘celebrate biodiversity’. It was launched by Bhamla Foundation, a Mumbai based NGO working towards health and environment. The song supported by the UN and ministry of environment was composed by Shann and features stars like Akshay Kumar, Bhumi Pednekar, Taapsee Pannu, Adnan Sami, Rajkummar Rao, Shankar Mahadevan, etc.

Bhumi is a true daughter of Bombay, born and brought up both. She came into this world on 18 July 1989. Satish Pednekar, her father was home and labor minister in the state of Maharashtra. Bhumi did her schooling from Arya Vidya Mandir, and afterward at Whistling Woods International. She joined the big banner of Yash Raj Films in the beginning of her career as an assistant film director. In the meantime, her father died of lung cancer in 2011, which led her mother to an active anti-tobacco campaign. After Bhumi’s debut in the silver screen in 2015, she did not have to look back anymore.
